Australia

Endeavour Replica tour 2020-2021
The planned voyage of a replica of Endeavour around Australia, has been cancelled due to the Coronavirus epidemic.

Banks and Solander Exhibition at Ringwood, VIC, 17 February to 17 April 2020
The Australian Plants Society (Victoria) is holding an exhibition featuring six of the actual specimens and 31 images of plants collected by Joseph Banks and Daniel Solander in 1770.
The exhibition will also recognise the vast indigenous uses of these plants and celebrate the long history of Australia’s First Nation peoples.

Exhibition at the National Museum of Australia, 8 April to 11 October 2020
The National Museum of Australia, was due to hold an exhibition from 8 April to 11 October, 2020, called “Endeavour Voyage – The Untold Stories of Cook and the First Australians”.
It is now being transformed into an online exhibition.

Point Hicks and Mallacoota, 18 April, 2020
The planned commemorations have been cancelled due to the disastrous fires over the summer.

Botany Bay on 29 April, 2020
The planned commemoration by Sutherland Shire Council of the arrival of Endeavour on the date of James Cook’s landing at Kurnell in Botany Bay has been cacelled due to the coronavirus epidemic.
The program for this year's event ‘The Meeting Of Two Cultures’, was due to include a Welcome to Country, corroboree and smoking ceremony conducted by members of the Gweagal, Dharawal and La Perouse Aboriginal community prior to official proceedings. The day will also include a variety of cultural workshops and experiences and the unveiling of commemorative sculptures.

1770 in 2020 Symposium, 29 April to 2 May, 2020
This event, organised by the Captain Cook Society in conjunction with major institutions, has been cancelled due to the evolving and rapidly changing notification and advice on the Covid-19 Coronavirus
It was going to take place over three days at the State Library of NSW, Sydney, with leading speakers from Australia, New Zealand and worldwide.

The Town of Seventeen Seventy, 6 to 31 May 2020
The annual festival at Seventeen Seventy has been cancelled due to Government directives regarding community events during the Coronavirus epidemic
There was due to be a re-enactment of Cook’s landing taking place on the last morning, a Sunday, as it is the actual date of the original landing in the year 1770.

Cooktown, 17 July to 4 August, 2020
Most of the Cooktown events have been cancelled due to the coronavirus epidemic.
A few are still planned for 16, 17, 19 and 21 June.
Three festivals were due to take place from 17 July to 4 August: Reconciliation Rocks Music Festival, Cooktown Discovery Festival, and Endeavour Festival.

16 June: Gathering of Clans
17 June: Commemoration of Cook’s Landing
19 June: Re-enactment of the first recorded reconciliation in Australian history
21 June: Re-enactment of the Landing of Captain Cook, and of his interactions with the Guugu Yimithirr Bama
19 July: Re-enactment of the first recorded reconciliation in Australian history, which took place between Captain Cook and a Guugu Yimithirr Elder, who instigated the reconciliation by producing a broken spear

Three Cook Conferences
The Royal Historical Society of Queensland are organising three Cook conferences: Brisbane on 23 May, the Town of 1770 on 29 May, and Cooktown on 1 August.
The two conferences in May have been cancelled.

Mapping the Pacific Conference, Sydney, 7-9 September, 2020
The State Library of New South Wales was intending to hold a conference called "Mapping the Pacific", from 7 to 9 September, 2020.
It has been postponed until 25-27 August, 2021.

New Zealand

Many events took place during 2019, the 250th anniversary of Captain Cook sailing around the North Island in Endeavour on his First Voyage to the Pacific.
Tuia-250 was established as an umbrella organisation with an overview of national and regional commemorative activities, to ensure a coordinated programme.  Its website at www.tuia250.nz shows the wide range of the participating organisations, both at a national and a community level. 

Tahiti

Some events took place during 2019, the 250th anniversary of Captain Cook's visit to Tahiti in Endeavour on his First Voyage to the Pacific.


United Kingdom

Many events took place during 2018, the 250th anniversary of Captain Cook sailing from Plymouth in Endeavour on his First Voyage to the Pacific.
Some events also took place in 2019.

As a past around the world yotty Interested in commemorative events for 250 th Anniversary in Qld . I’m based on the Darling Downs but v interested .
We were intending driving up for the July into August celebrations . Are any of the listed celebrations still scheduled

I wanted to see the Endeavour in Lyttleton and show my support of Captain Cook and his crew
that sailed here into unknown waters. I also wanted to see the Wakas that sailed from Polynesian
to New Zealand but that is not to be, which makes me sad.

Just a short note HM Bark Endeavour will be in NZ Oct 1- Dec 4 2019....not Jan 2020. Unfortunately the Endeavour won't be in Marlborough area in 2020. Endeavour sails south to Hobart in March 2020 in preparation so the ship can sail north into Botany Bay for April 2020.
